Pick 6!

Hi Colby:

A few weeks ago you had a "Pick 6" in your flag football game.  Since I was your coach, I had a great view of it (but unfortunately no video).  I was very proud of both the fact you intercepted the ball and ran it for a touchdown and that you knew what a "Pick 6" is!  You did a great job of educating your teammates.  :)

Below are a couple pictures from attending your first Husker game...the Huskers lost but at least you got to enjoy great seats thanks to Uncle Kevin and a bright red hot dog!

Love you and am very proud of you,
Dad

Good Advice, Again

Colby,

Admittedly, I was not there for this one but I am the cause of it.  Back in June, you were  spending a few extra days with Grandma and Grandpa in Omaha.  While playing Putt-Putt with Mason Tresemer, you found out he was going to St. Louis later in the summer.  You excitedly told him about our trip there two years ago.  When you got to the St. Louis Arch, you talked about going up to the top.  But warned him not to fart because it is a $500 fine...you said "my dad read it on a sign!"  That is some good advice...but I must admit I made that part up.  :)

On that same trip, you and I had a great time at the College World Series.  You became a Beavers fan when you drew them in the family pool.  Then ended up winning of course.  Here is a pic of us at the fan fest:

(in the third pose, you are doing the "floss dance")

This pic is from Father's Day, you and Harlan matched!

Love you,
Dad

Father Son Sports Night

Colby:

Couple of weeks ago we competed in the Father-Son Sports night at York Center.  Not to brag, but we dominated the basketball competition this year!  We both were hitting shots and I managed to hit 5 "8 point" shots in a row (it's really a three-pointer).  I was told we were more than double the next closest team.  I think it is the pinnacle of my basketball career, :), so glad I got to do that with you.

Anyways, grandpa joined us and was really impressed with our skills.

Love you so much,
Dad

Ps:  In your baseball league, your first two appearances for the Oriels resulted in no runs!  You struck out the side twice!

Sweet Gesture

Colby:

A little while ago you gave me a bracelet you made me.  It had beads of basketballs and baseballs on it which you said were representing the two sports I have coached you in.  I tried to put it on and immediately broke it.  I felt so terrible about it but you couldn't have been any nicer to me.  You are a great son.

Love you,
Dad

Ps:  Here is a pic of us from Easter 2018.

And a pic from a DePaul game where we won 2 hats and got 3 free t-shirts.

Big Brother

Hi Colby:

The other day, you didn't know I was watching you interact with your little brother.  You had a great big brother moment in my eyes when you gave him a hug and a kiss on the arm.  It was very cute.  Here is a picture of the two of you playing in the back (Harlan was hitting you with the stick):

You have been a great big brother to him.  I am very proud of you.

Just to show how fortunate you are sometimes, here are some pics from good sporting events we went to over the past few months:

Husker Volleyball game with All-American Setter Kelly Hunter (they later won the national title).

Lance game, we got to go in the locker room and you got an autographed jersey with the entire team signing.

DePaul game (they lost but you had fun)
Wolves hockey game.  We wanted to get something with their captain, Thompson, on it.  No luck though!

Love you,
Dad
