Golden Birthday / Golden Dome

Hi Colby:

Your grandpa bear and Uncle Kevin came in town a couple of weeks ago to take us all to the Notre Dame game in honor of your golden birthday (you turned 8 earlier this year).  So we go to see the Golden Dome after your Golden Birthday:

We had a great time at the game and Notre Dame won 52-17 over Miami (OH).  During the game, we did the push-ups for points:

Fortunately for my arms and shoulders, the ushers stopped us after 14 points...I don't think I could have handled 52!

I loved taking you to your first ND game.

Love,
Dad

Ps:  Couple more pics from the weekend including seeing the Cubs NL Champs trophy:

Farm Baseball

Colby:

This year I was able to coach you again at the "farm" level of little league.  In our last game of the year, you played your best game yet...I was so proud.  You made great plays in the field, didn't make an out at the plate and hit your first ball in the air to the outfield.  We lost to a very good team but you got the game ball (well deserved!).  Here are some pics from the season:

Love you so much!

Never Eat Yellow Snow

Colby:

This week we were enjoying some Italian Ice.  While I was filling your cup, you saw a piece of lemon go in the cup and said "oh no, there is yellow stuff in there!"  I explained that the piece of lemon is part of the flavoring and everything is fine.  You said:  "Phew.  If it is was snow, I would definitely not eat it!"  You crack me up.

Love you,
Dad

Ps: Here is a pic of you with Dibs...you used to be so afraid of him.  Also a pic of you holding your little brother.

Pps:  One more thing.  We did a father/son sports night at York Center a few weeks ago.  We took first place in basketball and hockey...you scored the winning goal.  You were so proud:

Winter Baseball

Hi Colby:

On February 18th, it was around 70 degrees in Chicago...new record!  We took advantage of it as best we could with a significant amount of time playing baseball.  You are getting so good that you even made the travel squad for Villa Park.  Here is a selfie we took after wearing ourselves out in the heat:

Love you son,
Dad

Ps:  Here is a fun picture from Legoland with Treyden:

Christmas Insight!

Colby:

On Christmas day 2016 you asked me if Santa brought gifts to your unborn little brother.  I said no that Santa only brings gifts to children that are born.  You replied:  "Oh year, otherwise Kelsey would have to eat the presents!"  (meaning to get them to your little brother)  That made me laugh so hard.  Here are a couple of pictures from Christmas and a video of you kicking a field goal into your kicking net Santa brought:
